Some Princeton researcher made a demonstration video of how it ’s potential to slip an election with a Diebold voting machine in under a arcminute . Anyone with physical admission to the machine can put in malicious software to steal votes — such as election worker who have unsupervised access to the machines before elections . All they have to do is open up the machine with a key ( or blame the lock ) , transfer the old computer memory card , stick in your own retention poster , boot the automobile , and it automatically installs any software that was on the memory card .
At the end of the demonstration election , the poll auto print out the wrong “ stolen election ” termination . The internal memory card also salt away in the wrong result . Every piece of evidence of how the election really went reflect the “ incorrect ” result . And , after the election is over , the vote stealing software can edit itself . There ’s no grounds left that the vote has been acquit incorrectly .
There ’s even a flaw in Diebold machines that permit a virus to spread out from political machine to auto , infecting a remembering lineup and using it to spread to other machines .
