Has the Hellenic Stargate been shuttered forever ? You ’d opine MGM and NBC / Universal would receive another Stargate unmediated - to - videodisc picture show after fans recognise the first two with open wallets . But sadly , Michael Shanks says another SG-1 movie might be DOA .
In an audience withSci Fi Wire , Michael Shanks , who played Dr. Daniel Jackson for 10 years with recurring purpose on SGA and even a cameo in the SGU new enlistee informational video , deliver some sad news .
“ Given the amount of time lag that ’s gone on between us doing the movies , I suspect that we might be very far off from , if ever , doing another videodisk movie … .This might be the closing of the book on that particular [ chapter of the ] franchise . ”

“ I think everybody ’s moving on to a sure peak , ” he told the site . “ And with the new show doing well , everybody ’s concenter their attending on that . The SG-1 estimation is fairly on the back burner , which is a little bit inauspicious , because I think one more story would have been a great fashion to bestow Rick [ Richard Dean Anderson , Jack O’Neill ] back in and really go there . But you eff , business organization is business . ”
This is sad news as I truly find that Continuum was the first clip , in a longsighted while , that SG-1 really dive into the older classic - series characters . Also what does this mean for the Stargate Atlantis moving picture ? Are they on the chopping block as well ?
role player David Hewlett ’s twittertwittermentions that he ’s currently at work on a Syfy TV pic , but we have a feeling it ’s more “ Syfy original ” than a SGA heroic plastic film .

Dear Stargate showrunners , please do n’t rent McKay slip one’s mind through your fingerbreadth . He ’s one excellent lineal - to - DVD adventure off from show all the SGU youngster how to get things done .
