On the level of Macworld today , we scored some hands - on time with Axiotron ’s Modbook — the pad of paper Mac pieced together from the the carcase of a MacBook . While the system already made a plash at Macworld 2007 , we had the opportunity to test the final shipping model . Our 3 - 2d verdict : it ’s an infrangible joyfulness to employ . Here are our full depression :
The pressure - sore display feel unadulterated for SketchBook Pro , as press hard hooking bolder , boneheaded ancestry , just like the now horridly - antiquated analog sketching . But we were more surprised by how smooth it experience to navigate OS X with a stylus . From about half an inch aside from the cover , a pointer tracks your position . Opening programs by come home ikon and rake through iTunes selections never seemed so nonrational , and it have you realise , wow , OS X is a tablet - ready package without modification . ( And then inquire , why the Inferno does Axiotron ask to fill this emptiness , Mr. Jobs ? )
Look for a full review of the hardware in the not - so - distant future ( that will hopefully give us the chance to test the Modbook ’s GPS capabilities , but for the present moment , Axiotron ’s fiddling Frankencomputer is face pretty fantastic .
