Google Calls Police on Workers Protesting Israel Contracts, Cuts Badge Access

Nine Google workers were check for trespassing in New York City and Sunnyvale , California on Tuesday night after an hours - longsit - in protest against their caller ’s contract with Israel , a voice from No Tech For Apartheid tell Gizmodo . Google says it has cut the protestors ’ access to their offices and work accounts , and placed these employee on administrative leave .

“ Physically impeding other employees ’ workplace and preclude them from accessing our facility is a clear infringement of our policies , and we will investigate and take action , ” sound out a Google voice in an email to Gizmodo Wednesday . “ These employee were put on administrative leave and their memory access to our organisation was cut . After resist multiple requests to leave the premises , law enforcement was engaged to remove them to ensure office staff safety . ”

The New York Police Department confirm to Gizmodo that four protestors were arrested for trespassing in Google ’s New York City headquarters on Tuesday nighttime . The Sunnyvale Police Department did not straight off respond to calls made outside of normal business hours . A spokesperson for the protestors say all nine Google workers have been release from custody as of Wednesday sunup .

“ We ’ve tried institutionalize petitions to leadership but they ’ve gone ignore , ” said Hasan Ibraheem , a Google software package engineer arrested on Tuesday in an emailed statement to Gizmodo . “ We will verify they ca n’t ignore us anymore . We will make as much noise as possible . ”
