Last week , the BBC air a special telecasting movie interpretation of The Borrowers , which featured some endearing performances . Christopher Eccleston was brilliant as Arietty ’s father Pod , and Stephen Fry pulled out all the stops ( and then some ) as the unscrupulous Professor Mildeye .
But the show was darn near slip by The Misfits ’ Robert Sheehan , as Spiller , the cocky immature so - and - so who ’s rent to guide the mob , and later to protect Arietty . He basically diddle Nathan from Misfits , except he ’s a few inch tall and wearing a bright ruby-red jacket with a humongous zipper on it . In the best scene , feature above , Spiller and Arietty are shelter at the home of young James , who find them a squeamish chick ’s layer to stay the night in , inside a shoebox . That ’s all the setup Nathan ( I mean Spiller ) needs to get his conquest on . Or , rather , not .
This interpretation of The Borrowers took a plenty of liberty with the germ textile — I do n’t believe Mildeye is a professor in the Holy Scripture — but it ’s enough fun that you somewhat much do n’t care . Here ’s one more cartridge clip :
