As you may be cognizant , I’m a Windows guy . I ’m not diehard about it , however . When the meter comes for me to get a newfangled laptop in the next twelvemonth or so , I ’ll be open to shift , making me Apple ’s target market . But there ’s one big reasonableness that is holding me back from making that switch : price . Apple ’s laptop computer are expensive as hell , and the damage are n’t justified .

in reality , the specs on the Dell are not better , as reader Giz James Topoleski pointed out . In fact , the MacBook seems like a much better automobile than the Dell except for the 1 GB of extra RAM and larger hard drive .
• The Dell uses Intel nontextual matter rather of themuch better NVIDIA GeForce 9400 M , which is currently unavailable in any other computer .
• The Dell uses a 802.11 g Mini - Card as oposed to the MacBook ’s Wireless N card .
• While it has 3 GB of Shared Dual Channel DDR2 RAM at 667MHz , the 2 GB of RAM in the MacBook is 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM .
• The Dell has an Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 with 667MHz passenger vehicle and 2 M cache as react to the Intel Core 2 Duo with 3 Mbit on chip and 1066 MHz bus on the MacBook .
• The Dell has no Bluetooth by default .
• There ’s no HD video production on the Dell and no option for one .
• There ’s no Gbit Eithernet .

So as you may see , the price difference is quite sensible , and that ’s without counting on things like the multi - touch no - button glass trackpad or the iLife multimedia suite , both thing not included in the Dell . It ’s like equate last class ’s car simulation with this year ’s .

Apple has always put a price premium on its product , and people yield it , which is great for them . But for masses who are n’t already on the Apple bandwagon and for people who are n’t deliver their computers buy for them by productive parent , like the college kids who snap up these laptop every August , there ’s no incentive to switch .
mayhap Leopard is right smart better than Vista . I do n’t know , I have n’t extensively used either . But when the time comes to grease one’s palms a new computing equipment that comes loaded with one or the other , one thing is going to make my decisiveness for me , and it is n’t shiny deoxyephedrine things or funny commercial . It ’s the Leontyne Price . And I do n’t remember I ’m alone on that one .
Note : While this last stage may be arguable , it ’s sure not the case of the MacBook . Even while the MacBook has less storage outer space and computer storage than the Dell , it seems competitively priced looking at the engineering including in the bundle . -J.D.
