Last week , Syfy vent the awesomely cheesetastic movie Dinoshark , mastermind by Roger Corman himself . And in this scene , Corman show us why he is the master of stock footage repurposed for giant monster fu .
Let ’s face it : Most of Dinoshark is padding , packed with random teen girl piss polo players and idyllic shots of Puerto Vallarta . There ’s a jovial feeling to the whole affair , as if Corman and his pal really want a vacation in Mexico and got some refuge to underwrite the shoot as long as they promised to do a pile of scenes highlighting touristry . We get a line all about how you could go whale observance , snorkeling , boating , and parasailing . We see Corman and his brother eating tasty food with “ scientist . ” ( Yes , Corman is in the movie , play a “ scientist ” who train dolphins and eats tasty solid food at a holiday resort with his cunning wife while sequence Dinoshark ’s DNA using a home personal computer . )
Anyway , back to what makes this scene so mavin . You ’re find out the surfboarding footage . You ’re cerebrate , “ Oh jeezus this is totally stock footage . ” You ’re watching more of the surfing . You ’re starting to wonder how long this can go on . They ’re still surfing ! Still ! hold off for it . . . wait for it . . . and . . . YES ! Dude !
