Because this was a commodious way to explore the relationship between Desiree Dupree and the Strong Man , Dell Toledo . While set about the patent lobster son job , Desiree miscarries . Which , what ? Then she lead to the hospital only to be told that her “ phallus ” is in reality an enlarged button . She ’s been a cleaning woman all her life story , and can have child ( should she decide to with Dell ) . Dell , on the other bridge player , is found with manful sex doer Matt Bomer in an old - timey , super - secret “ gentleman ’s club . ” Turns out Dell is gay and is in love life with Matt Bomer . OK , sure , why not ? Like all things American Horror Story , this feels like another wet plot that was taken out of the Mary Jane and vomit up against the bulwark to see if it adhere . Thankfully , Michael Chiklis and Bomer are effective enough actors , so watch out it is engage even if it ’s not necessarily emotionally striking .
It would seem the American Horror Story : Freak Show has finally succumbed to its long - held trouble : too many characters straddle too many plot all the while hoodwink spicy topics in the aviation . It ’s hard to connect . No matter how astoundingly gorgeous Matt Bomer is , I just meet him five seconds ago ! I have no bounder in the fighting for his life , other than it being horrendous . And yes , that is exactly what happens . Dandy exhibit up and bump off Bomer in a really cruel , gutless way . He just ca n’t seem to kill him , so Bomer is cut to pieces while still live . glaring !
And while we ’re discussing Dandy , this season of AHS comprise the most obvious and least originative solicitation of horror picture homages . There was the earlier fit where Dandy reanimate the opening to Halloween , ended with buffoon costume , POV through the clown mask , discovery of kitchen knife and eventual unmasking . It was okay . Personally , I ’m not a vast rooter of court when they ’re not really add anything to the mixture . And this one just felt like it was there to be there . Strangely enough , Dandy was given yet another classic horror movie to pantomime . This time we get to go inside the psyche of a newly created consecutive cause of death . Cue the American Psycho work out routine . While I think the actor who plays Dandy ( Finn Wittrock ) is kill it in this scene , at the end of the day it ’s just more is more . And it ’s confusing .
We know Dandy as a spoiled baby valet , not a ruthless soundbox - obsessed Patrick Bateman . He drinks intoxicant in a waterford watch glass bottle with his name engraved on it . Even though I ’m not thrilled we ’re spending this much metre on Dandy , I would rather we dig into his left mother takings and his weird sheltered life .
But reallym I ’d rather we just focus on the junky . Kathy Bates break enter the theme of outsiders and pariah that I really thought this season would attempt to play around with more . I do n’t require Dandy to pop mass just to be graphic . The direful Stanley character who wants to murder people and then exhibit them in a mammoth armored combat vehicle for cash is much more terrifying than anything I could imagine .
Oh well . And it seems we shall be expend even more time with Dandy as a overjealous Elsa has sell Dot and Bette to Dandy ’s delusional mother , the amazing Frances Conroy . In the conclusion , more Conroy is always secure , and she ’s been having a tidy sum of merriment this season mothering a spoilt demon . So OK .
In decision , I truly desire the season is n’t starting to AHS itself and spin around out of dominance . Also , hey , Gabourey Sidibe !
