1.Cardi Bas a KidAfter the rapper shared a throwback photo of herself looking sassy as a child, fans went wild imagining the different scenarios that would evoke such a cheeky look from a child.

Cardi even shared some of the memes on Instagram, writing, “Yaaaa annoying for this. Leave 5-year-old Belcalis alone.”

“Too funny ’cause I was a smart ass like this,” she admitted in another post.

The meme queen is up for five awards at this year’s Grammys, including album of the year forInvasion of Privacy.

  1. Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’Last February, theScorpionstar released his video for “God’s Plan,” in which he gave out almost $1 million to grateful Miami citizens, donating to everyone from patrons in a grocery store to workers at a women’s shelter.

It wasn’t long before fans started using an emotional shot from the video to lampoon their non-celebrity levels of generosity and celebrate the joy of everyday serendipity:

  1. TheA Star Is BornTrailer Meme ExtravaganzaThe Internet had a lot to say after getting a first look at theLady Gaga-led drama.

First of all, meme-makers had a field day with Gaga’s memorable vocalizations:

Viewers also had a ball parodying the moment in the trailer whenBradley Cooper’s character asked Gaga’s Ally to turn around as she walked away from his SUV because he “just wanted to take another look at you.”

Gaga induced giggles around the world again during the press junket for the highly anticipated movie when fans realized she’d repeated a story aboutBradley Cooperbelieving in her in seemingly every interview:

The pop star made fun of all the attention her anecdote got when hosts Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg brought it up at the Golden Globes. When Oh echoed her famous words, the cameracut to Gagasitting in the audience with Cooper, and she yelled, “It’s true!”

TheA Star Is Borntrack “Shallow” received four Grammy nominations, including song of the year, record of the year and best song written for visual media.

4.Ariana Grande’s ‘One Taught Me Love …’The best pop solo performance and best pop vocal album nominee had an immediate hit on her hands when she released her single “Thank U, Next” in November 2018. Reflecting on her past relationships, Grande sings, “One taught me love/ One taught me patience/ And one taught me pain/ Now, I’m so amazing,” on the track.

Turns out, lots of other people had learned a lot about love, patience and pain:

5.Black Panther‘s ‘Is This Your King?’The Marvel blockbuster’s soundtrack is up for album of the year, while the Kendrick Lamar & SZA single “All The Stars” from the collection is nominated for song of the year, record of the year, best rap/sung performance and best song written for visual media. TheBlack Pantherteam should be very happy about these prestigious accolades, but we also hope they take pride in gifting the world memes involving a shirtless Michael B. Jordan.

The jokes were derived from a scene in the superhero film when the actor’s character, Erik Killmonger, has seemingly bested Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa in a battle for the right to sit on the throne of Wakanda.

“Is this your king?” Killmonger asks the Wakandan onlookers as T’Challa grows weak.

The biting line was perfect for conveying dissatisfaction:

  1. Adam Levine’s Super Bowl ShirtThe Maroon 5 frontman, who’s recognized in the best pop duo/ group performance category for “Girls Like You,” made viewers do a double take when he stripped down to a tank top during the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show.

A surprising amount of people recognized the pattern from their own home décor:

The Internet also poked some fun at the tattoos Levine revealed when he took off his shirt during the performance:

7.Taylor Swift’s ‘Delicate’ FacesSwift debuted the video for herReputationtrack last March, showing the world some of her best dance moves and silliest faces.

Members of the Twittersphere related to the myriad expressions in the clip in all sorts of different ways:

Even the best pop vocal album hopeful herself got in on the meme action:

  1. The Carters’ Mona Lisa MomentIn June, husband and wife duo Beyoncé and JAY-Z released the Louvre-set video for theirEverything Is Lovesong “Apes—.” In one scene, the pair stood in front of Leonardo Da Vinci’s iconic Mona Lisa, which is housed in the Paris museum.

Stans came out to Photoshop their own beloved artist in Mona Lisa’s place:

9.Ariana Grande’s TattooNot only did she take over the meme world with “Thank U, Next,” Grande also kept us busy with an unfortunate tattoo incident in January.

The songstress believed that the two Japanese characters she had inked on the palm of her hand translated to “7 Rings” — the name of her latest single. However, multilingual fans pointed out that she was missing a few characters, and the piece actually meant “small, charcoal grill.”

Grande had a sense of humor about the mix-up, tweeting that she was a “huge fan of tiny BBQ grills” and apologizing for causing offense with the blunder.
